4-pin EXTRA power connector for AGP 8X graphic card
4-pin peripheral connector
SATA power connector
4-pin floppy connector
Power Supply Fan Monitor (FM) / Fan Control (FC)
PSU Fan Monitor connector (Valid for FM/FMA/SFM/
SFMA series)
PSU Fan Control connector (Valid for FC/FCA series)
Thermal Sensor (Valid for FC/FCA series)
Important: most of the connectors are fault-preventing designed to avoid faulty connection. If you cannot attach the female connector to the drives' or peripheral's male connector; please check if both connectors are attached in the correct orientation. DO NOT force to plug the female connector into the male connector in wrong orientation, or modify any of the components, as this will damage the PSU or devices. Enermax Warranty does not cover damage from user's incorrect operation.
Installation Steps
1.Voltage selection
For Pseries ˇ@
Make sure the AC voltage switch is set to the right voltage (115 or 230) section. Incorrect selection of AC voltage will damage the power supply.
For AX (G) series (Active PFC)
These series PSU work only under 200~240V AC. 110V AC not applicable.
Manual voltage adjustment is not required.
For AX (W) series (Active PFC Universal)
The PSU will automatically adapt the working voltage (100~240V AC).
Manual voltage adjustment is not required.
2.Install the PSU into PC case
3.Motherboard Connection
Plug the 20-pin main power connector into M/B mating connector.
ˇDIf there are extra connectors on your M/B for 6-pin AUX or 4-pin 12V power support, please
ˇ@plug in the corresponding connectors.
ˇDIf you have high-end graphic card, which requires extra power support, please use 4-pin
ˇ@connector labeled "EXTRA". This 4-pin Extra power connector will provide stable current to your
ˇ@graphic card.
20-pin MAIN power connector
6-pin AUX power connector
4-pin 12V(CPU) power connector
4-pin EXTRA power connector for AGP 8X graphic card
4.Drives and Peripherals Connection
Connect the 4-pin connector, SATA connector and 4-pin floppy connector into the corresponding peripheral.
20-pin MAIN power connector
6-pin AUX power connector
4-pin 12V(CPU) power connector
5.PSU Fan Monitor (FM) / Fan Control (FC) Connection
For PSU with FM/FMA/SFMA/SFM function: If you would like the M/B to detect the PSU fan RPM, please plug the PSU fan RPM connector(13) into the PWR_FAN connector on motherboard. PSU fans shall works normally even if this connector is not connected.
For PSU with FC/FCA function: You MUST plug this Fan Control connector (14) into motherboard PWR_FAN connector to activate power supply 8cm exhaust fan. Failure to do so will drastically decrease PSU cooling effect, or result in PSU failure due to insufficient cooling. Furthermore, the PSU will automatically adjust fan speed according to Thermal Sensor (15) reading. It is recommended to put the Thermal Sensor near CPU heat sink.
6.Check all connectors AGAIN
PSU On/Off switch
Make sure all devices and peripheral are well connected. Plug the AC cord into AC inlet. Press on/off (I/O) switch to 'I' position, then your system is ready to go.
For adjustable fan speed models: Tune the knob to control PSU fan speed. Fan RPM can be manually controlled or automatically adjusted according to system loading to avoid overheat.
